We talk a lot about asking for help. When we started Give and Take, we thought it might be hard getting people to take the time to offer help.
What we’ve found is that people are usually quite willing to offer help to colleagues in need, but they still hesitate to ask for help themselves, often worrying that they’ll look stupid or being unwilling to be vulnerable in a professional situation.
However, there are things you can do to create a sense of psychological safety and foster an environment of asking and helping.
